1. When does this privacy notice apply?
This Privacy Notice describes our practices in connection with the personal information collected about individuals interacting and using our products and services, including our website, https://www.healthnetcanada.ca/app (the “Site”).

As permitted by law, we may transfer or assign your personal information as a result of, or in connection with the planning, due diligence and implementation of business transactions, including merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of assets, bankruptcy, reorganization, liquidation or other business transactions
We may also disclose your personal information:
• during emergency situations or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the safety, health or security of a person or group; or
• otherwise with your consent.
Be aware that our website may contain links to other websites provided and maintained exclusively by third parties not subject to this Privacy Policy. We have no control or authority over third-party websites and are not responsible for any information that you may submit on those websites.
5. How do we protect your personal information?
We have established and implemented governance procedures and security safeguards regarding the protection of personal information. These procedures and safeguards are proportionate to the nature and scope of our activities and are approved by our Privacy Officer.

6. Where do we store your personal information?
Your personal information may be processed and stored outside of the province in which you reside and/or outside of Canada by us or our third-party service providers for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice. Specifically, your personal information may be stored or processed in Google’s Cloud-based servers, which are run on Google’s global infrastructure. We only do so as permitted by law and with adequate protections. However, you should know that data protection laws of these jurisdictions may differ from Canadian or Quebec laws. Service providers are bound by the laws of the jurisdiction in which they are located. As a result, they may be required to disclose your personal information in response to authorized demands from government authorities, law enforcement, or courts of their jurisdictions.
7. How long do we keep your personal information?
We only retain personal information for as long as is necessary for us to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with legal or regulatory requirements. At the end of the retention period, your information is deleted.
